Took a drive out to Ptown today to enjoy the beautiful sun. We stopped in at Ross' Grill for a fish lunch, on the recommendation of a local proprietor. After being promptly seated near a window with a killer view, we waited a good 5-7 minutes before our waiter graced us with his presence. He gave us a quick eye contact with the customary "be right with you", and then proceeded to visit others who were seated well after us. When he finally came over, we ordered, somewhat cautiously after being told that it was their last day open until April. We both ordered basic fried fish sandwiches. Every other party that arrived after us got their orders ahead of us, and he refused to make eye contact with us, despite my several attempts. After 15-20 minutes, I had to get up from the table and ask for some crackers, as I was getting a little low blood sugary. Finally, our food came......and the fish was literally inedible...strong ammonia odor and taste for both of ours. We summoned him back and nicely let him know about the problem, to which he replied "Well, I've been serving them all day". We walked out.
The good news is that we had a lovely sandwich at Napi's, down the street...but will never, never go to Ross' again.
