Rose Tattoo Report

Last Thursday night a friend and I ate at the Rose Tattoo before attending a lecture at the Free Library. It is not really a "destination" restaurant but we enjoyed our meal. Our Martinis was icy cold and nicely made - good olives. I had a salad with poached pears, greens and blue cheese. It was delicious- my only complaint is that the pears should have been riper. Friend said her Caesar salade was very good. I had a Tuscan steak from the appetizer menu - it was prefectly done and very tasty. My friend had pork chop with roasted sweet potatoes with cinnamon and chili. The pork was wonderful - a huge chop, flavorful and tender. Each of us had a glass of a merlot/cab blend with our dinner. It was quite good but I don't remember the name. We shared a champagne sorbet with strawberry sauce for desert. It was okay - not the highlight of the meal. Our waitress was very busy but attentive and pleasant none the less. I would certainly recommend the place if you are in the area and especially before attending an event at the library.
