Going for 9-10 days this July (3-4 in Rome; 6-7 in Sicily). Haven't been to Rome since 1989, and have never been to Sicily. I'm looking for great places to eat in both locations. Price isn't too much of an object, but we prefer neighborhoody, with a lot of local color, to "over the top." We can maybe splurge for one 2 or 3 star dinner, if we can get reservations, but would focus on great neighborhhod places the rest of the time.
Would also love hotel recs if anyone has them. Again, we have a preference for quaint over modern, although not so quaint as to be run down. Trying to stay in the $200/night range.
Thanks in advance.
