I am returning to Rome after living there as a student 1977 with wife and 14 & 16 year old. I have been reviewing chow rec.s on Rome
for the last month and was happy to see some of my old haunts still exist. We will be in Rome one week end and I recall sunday lunch is a big deal. I have considered several options and hope more recent to Rome hounds can give advice.
1)Gusto hip can be wait and mixed reviews but worth it for scene
2)Orso "packed with italian families
3)Checchino for all the reasons mentioned on board as well as
big day sunday
4)my old favorite Pierluigi was last there 16 years ago but have sent friends as recently as last year with great sucess.
so which would you go to this is one of our big ie more expencive meals so considerations other than cost, A late entry concept
is one of the road restaurants outside of rome. If you had only one sunday to have a 3 hour lunch and feel surrounded by typical Rome good food and afmily where would you go
