Romantic & Delicious/Ducey's on the Lake/Bass Lake

We spent our Valentine's Day up at the Pines Resort in Bass Lake. We had a spa suite which was wonderful, with a lakeview. Our stay included dinner at Ducey's on the Lake. We've celebrated the past three Valentine's Days here with very romantic and delicious meals.

I booked my reservations about six weeks ago and the server informed me that they had been booked for two weeks for this night. We were seated in the back of the restaurant in a very cozy booth, where you could see most of the lake.

I had the steak and lobster dinner that was excellent. It comes with a small green salad which was very fresh and good. The steak was bacon-wrapped with a very good bernaise sauce and the lobster was tender and prepared just right. Warm sourdough rolls were served, also. A baked potato with all of the trimmings and fresh steamed veggies were also very nice.

For dessert, we shared the "Sweetheart plate" which consisted of two profiteroles with vanilla ice cream inside and chocolate sauce drizzle, a chocolate covered strawberry and little plates of chocolate mousse. Very nice. We brought our own bottle of Broadley Pinot Noir from Oregon to go with our dinner which was excellent. ($10 corkage fee) A perfect dinner and our stay in our spa suite was very nice, even tho it rained most of the next day.

We had two very good lunches also at the Ducey's Bar & Grill, the casual restaurant. Very good sandwiches, salads and desserts there, also. Cheers! ***kim*** www.basslake.com
