Roksana Rocks!

I tried this new Persian deli on Mount Auburn near Watertown Square and it was quite good. It looks like a converted convenience store and they sell their own pickles ($5.00) amongst other Persian items. They make their own naan in a tandoori oven and sell this and have a bunch of prepared food packaged up in a refrigerated case. One that was intriguing was Zuresh Polo (chicken with pomegranate) with included a braised chicken thigh, pomegranate and their housemade basmati rice, including a shard of the crispy saffron rice ($5.50). I had the kibbedeh (ground beef) kebab with a grilled tomato, salad, rice and pita ($8) was it was excellent and generous portion. Rice was a little bland (though perfectly cooked) but a little sumac and garlic yogurt made it fine. Bread was light and perfect foil for the kibbedeh. Several Iranian emigrees came in while I was there ordering up a storm. Also of note, grilled lamb chops, lamb shank, wings, beef and chicken. Other side dishes available (stuffed eggplant, eggplant omelette, shiraz salad). Early days but seems like a nice addition.
