Roe - food good, service bad

Kat | Feb 12, 200510:10 PM

Our friends made a reservation for all of us to go Roe last night. I had never been, so I was looking forward to some good sushi and drinks.
Our reservation was for 9pm so we got there a little earlier to sit at the bar. At 9pm, we saw the hostess seat a group our size and started to wonder if she forgot about us. We approached her and she apologized it would be another few minutes. Well, 20 minutes later and very hungry we were seated.
We ordered right away since we were starving but during the dinner, the waitress hardly came by to ask how our food was. She refilled our wine while our glasses were plenty full as well - that annoyed me since I felt rushed.
The sushi was great and interesting. For dessert, my coffee tasted like water. They brought my coffee in a coffee press, which made me think back to life in europe but this coffee tasted aweful. I told the waitress it was very week and her reply was: Really, no one has ever told me that before.
Anyway, I would recommend Roe for the sushi but sit at the bar. It's pricey and I feel ripped off since the service was so bad. =( When I see prices on a menu like that, I feel the service should match it. The wait staff needs much improvement.
