If, like me, you have allowed Rockenwagner to fall off of your dining radar I'd strongly recommend a revisit. The new brasserie concept has been reported in the Times and probably here as well. We had a great dinner the other night with the familiar classics: Frisee Salad with Egg and Lardons, Short Ribs, Veal Goulash, Farmers' Market Beet Salad with Goat Cheese Crostini. All good. Only a dessert of vanilla ice cream with freshly baked Madelienes fell short. Nice affordable wine selection and the most expensive entree on the brasserie menu was $24.50 for a filet. There was a separate tasting menu available featuring the annual white asparagus variations which was more. Friendly and knowing service.
