Roadside in Medart

On my way to St. George Island this weekend I stopped at Huttons Seafood (850-570-1004) in Medart directly on 319. Huttons is a small trailer on the side of the road that serves seafood and burgers. I was lured by a sign that advertised soft shell crab. For 6.75 I got a cooked to order soft shelled crab sandwich that was perfect! The crab was fresh and a good size. I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, and onion. All all the toppings were fresh and cool - even the tomato was ripe! A worlds apart from drive-thur. Other offering were smoked mullet, fried shrimp, burgers, hot dogs and sides of beans, cheese grits, and fries. Everything is prepared when ordered and the prices are good. There is some covered outdoor seating but I had mine to go. You can call ahead and place an order. Nothing fancy but it's good, fresh food at modest prices. They are opened seven days a week.
