RMH Baltimore weekend update....

Hello Baltimore Chowhounds:

Here is my weekend update. Unfortunately we did not have as good a food weekend this time around. There were a few highlights. On Friday night we went to the Fells Point area and LOVED Fells Point. It was a side of Baltimore that I had never seen. It reminded us of the West Village here in NYC. We looked at several of the recommended restaurants but most of them were too noisy, after a long day at the hospital we are looking for some quiet time. We decided on John Stevens because it was off the beaten path and relatively quiet out back. I have to give it a mixed review. The best part was the drinks, only 7.50 for a beer and a Bombay and tonic! What a steal, in NYC you pay more than 10 for even one drink. The cream of crab soup was delicious and really had a crabby taste; the wings were good, not too greasy and had a good sauce, good not great. The entrees were a little disappointing and my husbands was completely wrong so they threw in dessert which was nice. I had a Caesar salad with shrimp, going for something light and it was seriously underdressed, I asked for more dressing but it never arrived. We saw an interesting restaurant in the area called Cali’s Court and wondered what everyone thought of it, it looked nice from the outside.

The rest of our food weekend is not worth mentioning, lunch at Fuddruckers, the children loved it of course, I have to admit it’s not a bad burger and they had a great coconut custard pie. Another lunch at the Inner Harbor, noodle soup at the Thai stand was surprisingly good, had a lot of chicken and baby/shanghai bok choi which was a welcomed addition and a flavorful soup.

We saw a few pit beef places on our way out of town on Pulaski but unfortunately we were not hungry! Oh well, hopefully next time.
