River Room - Atlanta

Recently, we asked you for suggestions regarding dinner
for our 26th wedding anniversary and our friend's 60th birthday. We plan to try every one of the suggested places in the near future. Birthday girl chose to return to the River Room on Northside Parkway (US 41) just south of the Chattahoochee River in the Post Riverside complex. We had never been there, I didn't recall ever seeing any reference to it on, and the AOL restaurant reference had a review, but no diner input.

It was fantastic. The check for the four of us (no drinks) came to $150.82 before tip. Every single appetizer, each entree, and both deserts were consistently good. There were no losers among what we ordered. The most pleasant surprise was my Steamed Mussel appetizer at $8.00 - the plate contained forty mussels. That along would have taken care of all four of us.

For the record, our appetizers were the mussels, Caesar salad, Crab Cake, and mozzarella and tomato salad. I also ordered Manhattan seafood chowder.
Our entrees were salmon, pork chop, rack of lamb, and stuffed trout. We had lemon tart and creme brulee for dessert.
