Ristorante Faustini- East Haven's Hidden Gem

My husband and I desperately needed a break from holidaying, so Saturday night we headed out to Ristorante Faustini, a place where we used to go regularly before we got married and had kids, but since intimate, romantic dinners are few and far between these days, we don't get there as often as we'd like.

Nestled in of all places, a strip mall in the center of East Haven, this place shopuld not be missed for anyone wanting top notch fare at reasonable prices. It's small - you'd be best to make a reservation.

Hubby had a mahi-mahi special with sweet potatoes, maple syrup and carmelized onions which he said was to doe for. I asked them to do a dish which was once on the menu but is no longer there, Veal Monterey, which is sautueed scallopine with a parmesean cheese and cognac sauce, topped with fresh picked lonster. Unbelievable!!!

We split a dessert and we were stuffed. With a glass of wine ech, bill came to $51.00

This place is a true hidden gem - but if you live in East Haven, you probably know that. Adventurous specials, attention to detail and cozy atmosphere are all to please any Chowhound!
