Okay, so my friends and I went to a show last night... and they convinced me to go to T.G.I. Friday's afterwards (I know, I know... I hear the groaning in my apartment!) It was much to my chagrin, but apparently that didn't matter too much.
So we get there, order drinks, and then the menus come... and we couldn't believe the prices! It was a special "December menu," our waiter explained, and the prices were inflated $5 than their already-overpriced grub (translation: $22 fajitas!!)
So we didn't order. But we did befriend our waiter. He said Friday's does this in NYC in December because all the tourists come, and don't pay attention to the prices when they order, so Friday's makes a lot of money.
Here's my question: are there any OTHER NYC restaurants who do this -- hike their prices for the tourist season? Any of the other chains?? And, is it legal??
