Rincon Limeno; ceviche of the gods

Groan...(of ecstasy)...

Too long since I've been to Rincon Limeno, the stellar, cozy room of Peruvian delights, in Day Square, East Boston..

Fellow hound Abbylovi and I shared a platter of superlative Mixed Seafood ceviche there this afternoon before I dropped her off at the airport...Mounds of barely opaque whitefish, squid, scallops and shrimp, marinated with a light coloring of chile-sauce in adiition to the lime, in the Peruvian style...I love the fact that it doesn't lay around awhile here, but is served just as it hits doneness... Accompanied by a chunk of corn on the cob, a chunk of boiled while and sweet potaatoes, and a sprinkling of roasted corn kernels...

There are several kinds of ceviches and fish salds on the menu. The octopus, which is actually cooked, then marinated, comes with fingers of their "best in town" fried yucca...And I'm not tossing that "best in town" term around lightly here..

The ceviche, IMHO, is also best in town, both in quality, and quantity...If you were served a martini glass of this stuff for the $12 in a South End place, you'd love it for the $12...Here, repeat after me "platter"...We shared it for a snack, but I'd consider it a filling dinner...Guiltfree, too!
