I went to Rialto Monday night for dinner during Restaurant Week, and I was very disappointed. The food was good though not extraordinary, but my big gripe was the portion size. Portions were ridiculously small. It seemed everyone around us was eating off the RW menu, which was too bad, because I'm very curious what normal portion sizes are there. My boyfriend and I devoured the bread basket after eating the entrees. Even the arugula salad first course was miniscule. It was also pretty ordinary, just arugula with a few cherry tomatoes, a couple of pieces of toast with what I think was a bean spread and a balsamic vinaigrette. I was disappointed by the entree choices, they have a vegetarian pasta dish, bluefish, and a chicken dish. We went for the bluefish which was fine but not especially memorable. My dessert, a chocolate espresso torta, tasted very good and by the time it came out I wasn't surprised to see the tiny sliver of cake. I think Rialto completely missed the point of Restaurant Week, which I think is to get people to come into your restaurant so that they'll come back in the future at full price. Believe me, I won't be back.
