Review -- Little Saigon King and Sherbourne

Pincus | Mar 25, 2010 08:25 AM

Work has taken me to eating many dinners in the King and Sherbourne area, and I've discovered this little place.

Limited seating, but fast cooking and take out.

A couple of the dishes are reminiscent of what I've seen at other "Vietnamese" places. I haven't tried any of these dishes yet. The rest of the offerings are the usual noodle or rice with veg and meat or tofu you find at other cheap and cheerful Asian takeouts around town, plus they also offer fresh rolls as appetizers.

Everything is very fresh (vegetables, meat), and portions are generous and not overly sauced or spiced, but still falvourful. Cheap and cheerful Asian food, with efficient service. Prices are very reasonable for what you get.

No coriander or other authentic herbs, but at their price point I wasn't really expecting any.

I like that nothing is sitting around on a steam table, there are cooks at the back assembling your order as it comes in to them. If I lived in the area, I'd be coming here often on nights when I didn't feel like cooking.

257 King Street East. For some reason the board software keeps adding in a link to the one in Kingston!
