Assuming most that the indian cuisine on devon ave is known to all chowhounds, i would like to recommend a kabab place on 6412 N Rockwell St., called J.K kebab House. The place is self serve, down to earth eatery which has the best kebabs in town. Do not expect any decor, any flashy stuff. The owner is from Hyderabad, india. Hyderabad was/is a quintessential place for mughal(royal)cuisine which drew it's influences from iran/turkey, because it's rulers were from iran/turkeys who came back in the 15th century. Anyways, i ordered the mix grill which consisted of chicken, goat, and beef kebabs. the goat kebab was articulately blended with the right spices and done just right. the beef kebab was like smooth like cheese and delicate. with it i got a curry called kadai ghosht(wok-goat curry) delicately spiced full of flavour. not intense but you could distinguish the spices. the cardomom, the fenugreek, ginger, garlic, turmeric. With it came rice(bagara) meaning the rice was stir fried with ginger garlic paste. this is again a hyderabadi styled rice(basmati). I am from hyderabad, have tried most indian cuisine on devon. the spices usually marr the flavor of the meat, or burns your stomach. Not J.K kebab house. This place has changed a lot since last year. the quality of the food cannot be judged by the decor or furnishings.
