Review: Casa Bianca Pizza Pie

My First Experience with Casa Bianca: Not too bad a wait (~ 15 min) since I had called approximately 30 minutes before I arrived and they put me on the waiting list.

I planned on getting a sausage and eggplant since Mr. Taster said the combination was sublime. My friend (successfully) pushed for variety and we settled on 1/2 sausage & eggplant and the other half pepperoni & mushroom. Requested pie cut.

Then we waited.
And waited.
And waited.

Aren't pizzas supposed to take about 10 minutes to bake? 45 minutes later, the pizza arrived with an apology. Despite my request, it wasn't pie cut. It was like someone took a pizza cutter and pretended he was in a slasher movie. Some slices were huge rectangles and some were small, odd polygons.

Tangy sauce, just the right amount oil, the crust was crunchier than I expected but alas LA pizza can't achieve that NY style floppiness. I enjoyed it more than Village Pizzeria in Larchmont.

When the bill arrived, they had charged us for four toppings. I was a little peeved at this since four toppings, to me, means that the entire pizza -- not HALF -- is covered with four toppings. But the waitress was hard to flag, seemed so matter of fact about the charges that we just paid and left.

Good pizza but the taste just wasn't great enough to compensate for the ludicrous wait and expensive toppings.
