Last time I ate here was at the old location and I wasn't impressed.

So maybe because I wasn't expencting much, I was pleasantly surprised. It's not the best food in North Beach but it is a 7 on a scale of 10.

The tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil salad with anchovies was a decent and satisfying version of this dish. The anchovies are a good touch. It seems to me that red wines go better with this than white. Sopped up the olive oil with a good Italian bread.

I had salmon with vegetables. Salmon was nice and moist. The vegetables were not overbuttered and cooked about right, not too much and not too little.

I had the spumoni cake. A thin fudgy amarreto botton, with a layer of vanilla ice cream and topped with a layer of green pistachio nuts. Different and very good.

Very nice chocolate biscotti with almonds. Not rock hard like many biscotti.
