Are there some excellent Chinese or Western restaurants that serve dishes using fish soup? A Hong Kong example is Fish Ball (in Cantonese: 魚蛋) or Sliced Fish Noodles, but again, this is just an example; I ask here about Western cuisine as well. I prefer somewhere informal in North York, Richmond Hill, or Markham, and not something in a lavish restaurant.
A Google search produced Deer Garden (www.deergarden.ca/) at Highway 7 and Leslie, which I doubt because Yelp (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/deer-garden-ri...) rates it only at 3/5 = 60%, yet our honourable food cognoscente, Sir Charles Yu, speaks of a 'pretty enjoyable' experience (http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/917383). I'd like something of quality at least as delectable quality, as the Fish Ball and Sliced Fish Rice Noodles (ie: Ho Fun or 鱼丸粉) at Hong Kong's Hong Kong's Pak Loh Chiu Chow Restaurant.
