This summer we ate at the best restaurant in Alaska! Brand new at mile 229 the parks highway near McKinley park. Named 229 restaurant and tavern acrossed from the airstrip about 10 miles south of the park entrance. It was great!!! I had a very tasty beef noodle soup highly flavored with ginger, organic grown greens from the owners garden and succulent scallops on potato with creme fresh. The dessert was a key lime tart out of this world with crystalized violets and I had a very nice home made lemonade. My husabnd had a great tangerine duck and crab cakes and he claims a very good wine(I know nothing of that sort of thing).Fine dinning in Alaska near the Park!!! Amazing and all for about the same price as other high end park restuarants. THANK YOU 229!!!!
