Hi everyone. I am celebrating my 40th birthday early next year, and am starting to plan a weekend in Vegas with a larger group of friends. My husband and I will host one dinner, and the other dinner will be one where everyone pays for themselves. I'm trying to figure out a place either on the strip or not that far off the strip for the dinner I am hosting that will be good, but casual, can handle a large group well, and not kill me price wise. My friend had a birthday party dinner in Vegas for around 40 people a few years ago at Firefly, which was great, and I'm considering there, but wanted to know if there are other places that do a good job with parties of this size (I'm figuring 20 to 30 people will come). Also, for the second dinner, I'm figuring most but not all of the people will come, so maybe a place for 15 to 20 people, definitely on the strip, and it could be a little nicer since the other dinner will be more casual. I'm considering Todd Engish's PUB, Burger Bar, Firefly, or even Margaritaville (or is that too cheesy?) for the dinner I host, and maybe Mon Ami Gabi, DOCG, or Jaleo for the other night, but these are just preliminary thoughts, and I have no idea what their group menus are like yet, or if they do a good job with larger parties (in terms of working with you before to set the menu and alcohol options, the service during dinner, etc.). Any advice or experiences you can share will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
