CHAYA Chaya in Beverly Hills has a Sunday 3-course (I think it's around $30.) They have live Jazz on Sunday nights, though, and the place is packed. The food available in the bar is very reasonable, although they have no min, so we sometimes just get a bottle of wine and a sushi roll and enjoy the music.

LUCQUES the ultimate prix fixe is the sunday supper at lucques, which is always a winner. you can always call ahead for the menu. it used to be 35 for 3 courses but now its 40 i believe. 8474 Melrose Ave., 323-655-6277

VIOLET Pre-Fixed Menu - Sunday nights, substituting for the regular menu, look for a three-course menu for $25, plus a bottomless glass of wine for $10 extra. Simons is also serving complimentary cookies and milk to end each meal.

3221 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA
(310) 453-9113

OPUS Opus next to the Wiltern. They have a new chef and new menu. A lot of people were ordering the spontaneous menu. I think the 3 course is $30.00, which includes a muse. Very eclectic cuisine. They offer 3,6 and 9 course. So I met a friend of mine tonight since I was so impressed by the food last week. We ended up doing a 3 course for $30.00 each. Definitely a deal. I had the hamachi with lardon, some kind of seaweed and lemon oil. Vrey fresh and quite different from the usual hamachi. Also got the pan seared john dory on charred romaine and sweet and sour cherries. Then got the infamous short ribs on cream of wheat and a red wine sauce. Ended up with dessert which was a chocolate molten cake with homemade ice cream and hazelnuts. Quite the deal for $30. I think the chef might have thrown in an extra course. Portions are extremely generous for tasting portions.

PATINA The business lunch at Patina is two courses for $25. Available Monday-Friday only, but an amazing sample of their cuisine.

JOE’S Joe's in Venice has a 3 course prix-fixe menu for under 20 bucks. i love lunch at joe's if you happen to be in venice. three courses for under 20 and damned good food. The 3 course lunch menu at Joe's is something like 18 bucks. Best bargain this side of the 405. 2 or 3 choices per course. which is nice! still a great deal.
