While I am not a fan of Anthony Bourdain, I am a huge fan of the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. I was a bit leery at first of watching this episode but I have to admit Bourdain, chef Michael White and crew did a fantastic job of showcasing the food of the region. If you were watching in HD, some of the pasta dishes just about jumped off the screen. Having eaten quite a few meals in this region, I could practically smell and taste the food right along with Bourdain and White. Aside from their trip to Ristorante San Domenico (where the preparation and presentation is of the very fussy "old school" type) I thought the show did a wonderful job of conveying the freshness and simplicity of the food of Emilia-Romagna.
