In a few months, we're headed to O`ahu, and will split the trip between the North Shore and Waikiki Area.
This will be our first North Shore visit in about two years, and we were curious how things were doing there, and especially at the Turtle Bay Resort.
Over the many years, we have experienced the good, and the bad. About 8 - 9 years ago, things got better, but then became a bit uneven.
21 Degrees North has been the bright spot, but it HAS been almost 24 mos.
Ola has been up, but Ola has been down.
Once, the Palm Terrace, a mixture of a la carte, or buffet, became something else (Bernardo's?). When it was, what it was, the a la carte menu was quite good, though their wine list was very limited - still, a nice, casual location, but we have no idea of the buffet, as we just seldom can be talked into doing those.
Lei-Lei at the golf course, has always been consistent and good.
I hear that Turtle Bay has added a new restaurant, but can find no reports.
We hope to do a couple of lunches in Hale`iwa, at perhaps Luibuenos, or elsewhere, but for dinner, we like to stay on property if possible, as we like our wines too much to want to drive, even from close by.
Just looking for some recent comments, and mahalo.
