Had dinner at Cafe Tre Monte in Woburn last Friday night. We shared a Ceasar Salad to start which was very good. The Tagliatelle with Bolognese Sauce was outrageously delicious as was the pasta Special with chicken, mushrooms and herbs. The portions were very generous which unfortunately left us no room for dessert. Thank you Chowhounders for recommending Cafe Tre Monte.
On Saturday evening we dined at Catch in Winchester Cntr. The restaurant is very small, has only about 10 tables and a few seats at the counter. We were offered bread with olives in delicious olive oil. For an appetizer we had the grilled calamari but could have used a magnifying glass! This dish was extremely small and left us wondering about our main course. The tilapia was served over a tasty mix of bacon, corn and tomato. The salmon was served in a tasty broth but again was extremely small! My biggest pet peeve is being rushed through dinner. Here the waitress was on us like a hawk. As soon as our glass was empty, it was whisked away. I was still eating when the waitress pulled away my husband's plate, and later apologized when she returned for mine. The portions at Catch do not command their prices and we will not go back and will certainly NOT recommend Catch. There are many wonderful places to enjoy seafood in the Boston area where the portions and price are excellent. Catch does not fall into this category.
