Report: Tuscan Grill in Waltham

Great night. Just got in.

The service was great. I called this afternoon for a reservation. Could only get a 9pm. However, when something freed up they called to see if we wanted an 8:30pm. Great!

I ordered the special, thinly sliced duck (perfectly cooked and not tough, very lean and full of game flavor) on top of fresh pasta in a wine/ chuck prosciutto sauce with very very fresh peas, seemed right out of the shell. My friend had the grilled halibut with mash potatoes and greens. Simple, maybe too simple, but the food was prepared to bring out all that “comfort” one might want in such a meal. Oh, for an appetizer we ordered a half of the cream, spinach risotto with fresh cream, cheese on top… I forget exactly, but it was a great summer starter. To top it off we shared a rhubarb pastry with a ginger gelato. All in all, it was a nice trip to Waltham, a first for me.
