Just a quick report of some of the good things we've eaten in Oahu.
Great ramen and fried noodles and some swwet fried chicken and beef dish from the no-name noodle place on King st. and Pensacola (thanks to the person who made that suggestion)
Delicious plate lunch, especially pork adobo, at Benneke's near waiamanolo park. we took it onto the beach andhad a lovely lunch. We then went back to Benneke's for some homemade coconut and pineapple ice cream.
Touristy but good garlic shrimp at Giovanni's white truck stand near the North shore.
Taday we ate in a delicious restaurant in Chinatown, but I've forgotten the name. Had great salt pepper shrimp, mai fun, ferns in some spicy sauce, sesame cakes and some other stuff.
Also, Leonard's pastry shop for masaladas, which might just be the greatest thing I have ever had (hot fried dough, stuffed with chocolate pudding, custard or coconut cream).
I have also cooked dinner twice for our hosts. Thresher shark one night, and fresh hunka tuna another night. Today, I found a good source for fresh fish and produce, so I will be cooking more.
I'll try to write more at another time, but my wife just called me a chownerd and suggested I go change the baby's diaper, so I gotta go.
Report back soon,
