Well to begin with, thank you to all those who made suggestions!!
Here is a summary of our food experiences:
Hashemen: for shwarma...clean restaurant, tasty and filling!!
Agvania: for pizza...another clean restaurant. My daughter was happy as we ate our shwarma
Falafel Oded: in baka for you got it..falafel
In Mahane yehuda...we went to the halva man (for halva..lol) and marzipan for rugelah.
We were happy.
Caffit: sweet potatoe salad, grilled haloumi sandwich, smoked salmon on a bagel...WE LOVED this place.
Ryu: this was not a good choice (our guests selected it). Its a asian restaurant in baka and although it seems popular Im not sure why? Great service though..
Kentucky Fried Chicken: a mistake. LOL.
Magic Burger in Kikkar Rabin: 200 grams of GOODness. LOL. We inhaled our burgers and we are still talking about the experience.
Aroma Cafe: their new quinoa salad...amazing.
The brew house: for great beer and a phylo dish with goat cheese that was heavenly
Max Brenner: for chocolate!!
Cafe Bahgdad: for great pizza and I ordered a bahgdad salad that was incredible.
What did I bring home:
From the EDEN store in Kfar Saba: dried orange peel (that is so so good), dried habiscus flower. I baked both items inside baked apples for rosh hashana. YUM.
Olive Oil with Lemon
Thai Red Curry Paste and Green Curry Paste
In general..we thought the food was amazing in Israel. It was beyond our expectations.
We are kosher so we were limited and we had kids with us too.
