I was in your fair city this weekend and ate very well. I had the fried sweetbreads for brunch at Big Jones (Andersonville) and that was a great dish. Sweetbreads could have been creamier but what a nice combination with their excellent biscuits and gravy. Quick dinner at Due was good and certainly better than the Uno 's chain but not special. Portillo's beef and sausage combo on the other hand was excellent. Meat is just better here. A work dinner at Indian Gardens was good with a very good crab curry and keema (ground lamb and peas). A nice surprise of pierogies downtown at Pierogi Heaven (love the name) at Welles and Lake. Finally flying back through Midway, I'm stunned at the quality of your airport food given the crap we have at Logan. Manny's express had a very good and very large corned beef sandwich that was sliced to order. After a quick visit to my cardiologist, I'm good to go.
