Replacement for Sun Hung Heung [San Francisco]

Hello,

As a little girl visiting my Gong Gong, we would always, always swing by Sun Hung Heung after running errands in China town, which was owned by his brothers. Gong Gong would meet up with his friends for an hour or two and play 13 Cards (at least thats what I think it was called) at the bar. My sister and I would sip Shirley Temples and munch on their yummy dumplings and stuffed chicken wings, and became pros at creating card houses. To this day I have a soft spot in my heart for dark bars with high red-leather backed booths.

So here is my dilemma. I have not been back to Sun Hung Heung since my Gong Gong passed away and his family sold the restaurant years ago. I am coming back for the New Years week and would love to stop by.
However, I've heard that the food is not so great and the prices are way too expensive. Does anyone have a good replacement?

Does anyone know if the bar in the former Sun Hung Heung still exists? I really hope they haven't made it all trendy. Thanks everyone!
