renewed appreciation for an old Charleston favorite

I can't remember the last time I ordered a whole panfried flounder.I discovered the eror of my ways this weekend.

We decided to keep our free meals simple and low key since we had to fancy wedding events to attend.(the Magnolia Gardens and Governor Bennet's house events turned out to be really nice)

As it turned out I had whole fried flounder twice in three days.As simple pleasures go,it was stellar.The wonderful fat that is preserved in the whole preparation is sublime.I want to put a bumper sticker on my car that says "friends don't let friends eat fried fileted flonder"

I had the dish at Sullivan's and Marina Variety Store.Whole fried flounder seems to be finding its way back on menus all over town.

Also,do go to The Fishnet and enjoy fantastic fried shrimp on the cheap.Just be prepared to eat in your car,but it was worth it!
