Help from the Regulars

Ken in MS | Aug 18, 2009 11:30 AM

I'm on my way to NO again for Decadence and need a little help with a restaurant recommendation.

We come 2 or 3 times per year and our itinerary is usually set by our restaurant choices (how else should you do NO?) We've done K. Paul's, Muriel's, Bacco's, Irene's, Snug Harbor, MiLa, Santa Fe, Lola's, even Vine & Dine, plus some others. This trip is pretty much planned out except for dinner on Sunday. The option I'm looking at is GW Fins.

I know the reviews are hit and miss, but it sort of fills the niche we have. Our fish-hater is not coming with us, so fish is a good option this time. But we are meeting two from Florida who have never been to NO, so we don't really know what they might like. So I'm trying to pick the brain of the Chowhound posters to get some alternative suggestions for GWFins. Probably in the same price range (just guessing about people's preference there), for sure in the Quarter (none of us wants to be driving during that particular weekend!), with decent food, decent wine/drinks, nice or cool atmosphere.

I may have to just line up some options and let the visitors pick. Any help would be appreciated!
