A regional Gnocci that I have never had before

We had lunch again at Fioretto Saturday. We ordered the Butternut Squash Salad and also the Veal Picatta served with Gnocci. Salad was great. Sweet, Tart, Creamy and fresh. The veal came and it had fried circles of what looked like fried Polenta Cakes. I inquired and was told that these were made like Polenta but with Semolina flour and cooked. Then spread into a shallow pan, cooled, cut into circles and fried crisp. This is the Gnocci from his region of Italy. We loved it as well as the tender veal and first class sauce. He also made a Tiramisu dessert that was made with sponge cake soaked with Espresso and some Amaretti cookies crumbled in. It was covered with Mascarpone Cheese and dusted in Cocoa Powder. It was light as a feather and I couldn't help but devour every drop. I am pretty sure that he could use more business. It would be a terrible shame to see him fail. What a talent. No licquor license yet. His agent has been telling for 3 weeks that it is "in the mail".
