Reds Burger Joint is the successor to the beloved Campus Drive-In. It expanded the menu, but offers the same kind of fast food model but cooked to order.

Default for hamburger doneness is "medium", and you need to speak up if you want well-done. Bravo!

Hamburger patties are 1/4 pound and the sesame buns are well-toasted to provide some backbone to the pillowy softness. These folks know how to build a burger using whole green leaf lettuce UNDER the juicy patty, a thick slab of tomato, and no stinting on the add-ins. A recent lunch was the Blue Moon Burger, $6.49, that features blue cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and grilled onions. A gready, guilty pleasure.

It's just off Hwy 68. If you're exiting Hwy 101 to cut over to the Monterey Peninsula, give it a try.
