Red wine with cheese fondue?

I've been asked to bring a red wine to a dinner to go with a fondue course. I'm assuming it's the classic cheeses, gruyere, emmental with some kirsch. I would tend to pair it with a crisp dry white so am at a bit of a loss for a red. Pinot noir maybe? Thanks for any suggestions.
