Red Tea Box

Had lunch at the Red Tea Box yesterday.

Food was delicious. Had the bento lunch box which had four items, all delicious. The items included slow-roasted black cod, salad with pressed duck, lemongrass risotto and some vegetables. One of the vegetables was cauliflower, not my favorite, but they did something to it which made it absolutely delicious.

Service was friendly and efficient. They were very accomodating of my 6-month old (heated up some food for him, didn't complain about large stroller etc.).

Servings were small and pricey. I realize there is a lot of labor involved in the preparation of this food, however, rice and cailiflower are cheap, so what the hell throw a litle more in the box (might spoil the presentation I suppose.

Desert was not very good. Had this chocolate chocolate cherry cake. It was buried under fondant and not very palatable.

Overall the place is alittle pretentious but it was some of the tastiest food I have had in a while. Would I go back? Yes, but not if was starving. If I wanted a delicious light lunch I would definitely go again.
