Last week, I took my five-year-old goddaughter and her mother to a new Red Lobster in Silver Spring. It is located in a new mall at the juncture of Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road.
I had a mariner's platter, the mother had lobster tails, and the child had crab legs. The food was mildly edible although, for a bunch of good eaters, nobody finished their dinner. Goddaughter was asked if she wanted ice cream, an offer she never refuses, but she said no because her stomach hurt.
The service was minimal as the waiter took away our iced tea for refills and didn't return for 15 minutes.
Is there anything in this new mall that chowhounds would recommend? It is such a lovely site with a lot of chain restaurants.
