Red Egg and Ginger Party @ Empress of China, SF

My father's side of the family had the good fortune to welcome two little Monkeys last year. The youngest addition, Mericel, celebrated her first 100-days with a luncheon at Empress of China last month.

Strongest dish was the whole poached chicken (including the head!) with Virginia ham shown below. This used to be a more common banquet dish than it is today, and it was great to revisit this classic. Another good dish was the prawns with walnuts.

Yet, the highlight of the restaurant is the spectacular view and the decor of the room. On this sunny and blue-skied day, some of us kept our sunglasses on to deflect the glare. For more pictures of the room filled with our relatives and the food, check the link below.
