Our family will be vacationing in Nova Scotia and P.E.I. in the 2nd week of August and we are looking for family-friendly restaurants (not too expensive or formal, with menu items suitable for a young teenager who is kinda picky). Our itinerary will include Halifax, Peggy's Cove, Lunenberg, Dundee in Cape Breton Island, Pictou, and Joggins. I've perused most of the recent threads for Halifax as well as www.eatinghalifax.ca (great website!) and Il Mercato looks good, as well as being in our budget.
We'd appreciate any other suggestions for Halifax as well as the places listed above, and especially for P.E.I. (Charlottetown or Cavendish)
Also are there any regional specialities we should try? And is there any seafood still in season in mid-August?
