What a fantastic weekend. I will touch on the high and low lights of our trip. But when all is said and done you should all feel very fotunate to live in such a wonderful city.
1. PCDC-Very nice waiter, staff, and scene; ordered oysters to start as it was getting late (took 45 minutes to arrive)as I think our order was lost. Everything went sideways from there. And you may be curious about the duck in the can, it is a curiosity best left that way. Overall a nice place to visit (once) unless you are at the bar with a few friends it comes off as impersonal. I get it you can add as much fat ( or foie) as you want and we will buy it. There is no love in that cooking (foie gras hot dog) but a good wine list.
2. Le Club Chasse & Peche-What an interesting place and very cleverly presented. The staff was exceptional and all of the food was carefully prepared and presented. Great product, technique and presentation! A definite return visit is in order.
3. Joe Beef-This was the money shot. We could have skipped the others and eaten here three nights in a row. Oyster were perfect, fiddleheads w/mushrooms w/poached egg ( sound of drool hitting keyboard), foie terrine ( best foie of the trip), Onglet two ways, pork loin w/peameal and chorizo. The only item that wasn't perfect was the cheese plate but who cares? This place would be our once a weeker at minimum.
We have a few more to try on our next visit but for you foodies out their wondering where to go LCCP and Joe Beef should be on your list.
Thank you all for your input!
Vive la Montreal!!
