Hubs and I will be in Vegas from Friday afternoon -- Monday afternoon for a quick getaway (leaving our toddler and baby at home). The last time we were in Vegas was about 3 years ago. Staying at the Vdara and we are getting in just in time for dinner on Friday (hopefully).
We have reservations at E by Jose Andres for Sunday and plan to visit the following on this trip: Bardot Brasserie, Lotus of Siam, and (don't laugh) Mesa Grill for brunch before we head back home on Monday, as hubs has always wanted to try Bobby Flay's food. Our goal is not to leave the Strip except for Lotus of Siam.
Places we've visited and would like to skip this time around: L'Atelier Joel Robuchon/Robuchon, Twist, Le Cirque, Burger Bar, B&B Ristorante, Carnevino, Guy Savoy, Sage, Wing Lei, Lago. Also places we would like to skip: Anything we can get in California (so Bouchon, Chengdu Taste, Cut by Wolfgang Puck, Michael Mina, etc. are out) and probably most steakhouses.
I would like recommendations for our Friday dinner and a brunch option. For Friday, we originally were thinking just going to L'Atelier because we haven't been in years; however, hubs wants to try something new if there is a place we should try. Hopefully where we can go without reservations in case our flight is delayed, and that would give us the option of ordering shared plates or a la carte (and not a tasting menu). Anything we should try? Price is not an issue. I've heard good things about Rick Moonen's seafood place for years but haven't gotten there yet. Is Beauty and Essex worth visiting? Julian Serrano (even though we're already going to E)?
Same goes for brunch. I've looked through the more recent posts and have seen Veranda and Yardbird as potential brunch options. Anything we shouldn't miss?
Thank you in advance for your feedback!
