Hi Chowhounders!

My husband/I are traveling to Australia this January/February. We are both foodies and haven't lined up any places to eat. I looked on the board but am just overwhelmed and stuck. Would love and appreciate some great recommendations.

My husband and I love to go to where the locals love to eat and try to avoid touristy restaurants. We don't have to go to chi-chi or fine dining for all of our meals, casual is fine.- we just want to enjoy great food. We love seafood and whatever is great in the specific region/area we are in. I am not really a beef eater, so going to a steak place or bbq where it is all beef with not many other options isn't our thing...but anything else is!

Here are the places we'll be...any recommendations you can make are appreciated!
Melbourne
Sidney
Brisbane
Cairnes
Biondi Beach

Thanks so much in advance, Chowhounders!
Nancy
