We are heading back to Spain in mid July. We are very sad and heartbroken to find out Ibai had closed, our no 1 restaurant in San Sebastian. We're glad that we made it back last year during pandemic but sad to learn the chef brother, Juantxo had passed away ( RIP). Their dishes and the Ibai family will stay with us forever. We doubt anyone would beat their clam risotto ever. We wishes Isabel and Chef Alicio all the best.
On the other hand, we are very grateful to return to following temples on this trip
We will be spending 2 night in Andalusia ( based in Seville), 3 night in Barcelona and 2 night in Asturia. We have the following restaurant booked so far,
2) El Canpero
We have waitlisted ourselves for Aponiente, would you recommend Abantal if we couldn't get in Aponiente. Is Aponiente worth the splurge.
We also read the rave review of Casa Antonio in Zahara by Ericka, should we swap out El Campero to Casa Antonio instead.
What are the not to miss tapas bar in Seville, is most tapas bar closed on Sunday.
Is Casa Balbino not to be missed?
3) Cocina Hermanos Torres
4) Mont bar
Should we replace Cocina Hermanos Torres to Alkimia instead ( We have never been to both places) , we care more about food than service or decor, they rated same score for food at 9.1 on the Macarfi website, which is a better bet, or should we do Via Veneto , which ranked no 2 on the list
Any other recommendation for tapas than open for lunch? Maribel, have you heard or tried La Cova Fumada which is an old school tavern specialized in "bomba" and local fresh seafood, should we give it a try. We are seafood lover.
1) Casa Gerardo
2) Gueyu Mar
3) Waitlisted for Casa Fermin
Any other not to be missed restaurant or tapas that we should try in Asturia
Any new or worthy pinxtos that we should try in San Sebastian
Thank in advance
