Next weekend I'm going to help out my grandparents, who have been ill. One of my main tasks will be making dinner for them. They have some dietary restrictions, and do not eat a lot in general (they're 89 and 94). Here's the limits and what they do like:
Doesn't like - onions, mustard
Likes - ham, sweet potatoes, pineapple
No other limitations
Not aware of any dislikes
Likes - lemon flavored things, things like stroganoff
Gluten and dairy intolerant.. would probably do a bit of gluten for a dessert, or a bit of dairy in terms of like, cheese sprinkled on top of something... but something like mac n cheese or pizza? Probably not.
I have a recipe for a lemon chicken and asparagus stir fry that will probably work. I might do a roast chicken so we can use the meat for other things or to freeze for later. I also plan on doing a pineapple upside down cake (prob the recipe from Mexican Everyday) since Grandpa's birthday is on Friday. But that's all I've come up with so far. Most of my "go-to" meals have one of the above no-nos in them. I also have no idea what is in their pantry so things with tons of seasonings or ingredients probably will be cost-prohibitive.
So, fine CHers, any good ideas?
