When I was visiting my parents in Hot Springs, Arkansas, we stopped in a Wall-Mart Supercenter where they were selling Excel cyrovac Whole Briskets in the 12-14 pound range for $1.29 a pound. Needless to say, the only briskets that I can find around here are the half flat briskets that have been trimmed to death and sell for around $4.00 a pound and up. Since this is going to be used for slow smoking, I want a full size one that has the fat cap on it.
Does anyone know where a whole brisket can be bought that is reasonable in price ($2.50 or less). I live in the Western burbs but will travel for a good piece of meat. Thanks
