Any reason I can't remove an over the oven microwave?

We are buying a condo that has an over the oven microwave and extremely limited counter space. We do not use a microwave ever, but do use our countertop oven daily (and I don't want to heat up a huge oven every time I need to heat something up!). I'm wondering if there is any safety reasons we can't take the microwave down, stick it in storage (so we can replace it when we move in the future since most people want the things) and put our countertop oven on an over the oven shelf in it's place? It would be nice not to have that counter oven taking up 23" of counter space while a microwave we will never use just collects dust above the stove.
