Can I use real potatoes in a recipe that calls for Ore-Ida Hashbrowns?

Harts52 | Dec 23, 201305:55 PM

I have been tasked (at the last minute) to bake a casserole that includes frozen hashbrowns, canned cream soup, sour cream, butter, onion and cheddar cheese. The recipe calls for glopping all together in a dish and baking for 45 minutes at 350.

I hate to play with a recipe first time out, even more so when I have to take it somewhere, but is there any reason I should stick to the frozen potatoes and not use the real potatoes that are in my pantry?
