Looking for a REAL Italian Deli in Brooklyn

Joe | Feb 13, 200001:29 PM     5

I've been living in the Slope for 3 years and am disappointed by the lack of good Italian products that can be found. I used to live in a very Italian neighborhood in NJ where the best olive oils, imported pastas, balsamic vinegars, breads, and cheeses were a regular part of my diet. Now I have to travel back to Jersey to find them. There must be places here in Brooklyn that I am not aware of and would appreciate any advice. If folks are interested in the Jersey places, let me know and I can post their names and addesses. One of the hardest items to find here is the dry, aged mozzarella known as "scomazze" (sp?). Please help. Thanks.
