installment two of the Inauthenticity of
Rays Pizza was wonderful. I had missed the first
in manhattan, but the warehouse alley by Queens
Moma was a perfect spot for some outdoor
grilling of pizza -- near to the 7 train,
appropriate for art on diversity and absudity
of new york food. something to cut through the moma snobbery.
the pizza was really nice. esp considering just made on a pizza stone, on a outdoor bbq grill. great cheese, great sauce, light but tasty crust. much better than any standard ny pizza, up there with some of the fancy manhattan pizza places. and with a proper oven, etc., I'm sure Andrew's pizza would be a contender. but much better to make and eat the pizza outside as street art.
and the photographs were wonderful; people seemed to get them and laugh at them right away.
anyone else have thoughts on the pizza and photo show on wheels' trip to queens?
